Stacey has been an educator throughout her 30+ years in the classroom grades 5-12, writing curricula, and leading educational teams and programs. Currently she is a teen educator, camp style! Being the Director of Kadima, a teen leadership and Counselor-In-Training program based on Jewish values coupled with Social-Emotional Learning, it is incredibly rewarding to have an opportunity to make connections with teens and to be a part of their journey as they form their strong foundation of character, in the camp bubble and beyond the summer months. These educational experiences throughout Stacey’s career have helped to shape her understanding about what it takes to grow positive, responsible, and action-oriented leaders.
Now more than ever, with so many aspects of life, and let’s call it like it is — Jewish life, competing with each other — social media, information and discussions that are polarizing, politics, energy crisis, personal expectations, and daily interactions and happenings — it is necessary to carve time and space to slow down, to find support and resources, to find gratitude and joy (even) during times of challenge, and to connect with community.
Besides listening to music, reading, doodling, and getting ready for and participating in our teens’ journeys at camp, Stacey enjoys traveling, biking, playing tennis, and jumping into the kitchen to create lots of tasty treats with her family!
